The Anderen Pin Abrasion and Metal Marking Tester is designed to provide a repeatable abrasion test on flat or curved surfaces for testing ceramics
An Ideal instrument to test metallic applications such as gold or platinum, and resistance to metal marking from cutlery

The Pin Abrasion Tester is supplied with 6 pin abrasion heads, which can be fitted with a variety of abrasive pads. These can be cut from sheet materials and adhered to the pin using super glue.

The unit is also supplied is a cutlery adapter to perform metal marking tests using a piece of cutlery.

The motor is set at a constant speed, and the number of strokes is recorded on a digital count-up / countdown timer.
A standard cycle can be set into the programmer, and once the required number of strokes has been applied, the unit will automatically stop. (The counter will automatically revert to the last cycle programmed into its memory until it is physically changed)

Using the accessory clamp , it is possible to carry out abrasion tests on curved surfaces such mugs or samples of a similar shape including bottles
The stroke length of the arm is adjustable between 10mm and 130mm

Changes in applied pressure on the pin head can be made by adding or removing any of the accessory weights which are supplied with the instrument.

We will soon be adding a standard metal marking adapter to the range. This will be fitted with three steel pins (Martensitic, Ferritic and Austenitic grades) so that the three tests can be done simultaneously
